There are different forms of medications that contain sulfur, which are used to help relieve and cure scabies. There are creams, lotions, ointments, and soaps that have sulfur. Although it is not scientifically proven that sulfur actually does cure scabies, it has been shown to help with the itching, which prevents spreading of the parasites. And according to some experts, has been used throughout history for the treatment of scabies.

The amount of sulfur in the ointment is usually between two and ten percent in a six percent ointment base. The most commonly used is four percent sulfur in a Vaseline base.

Most doctors will use different medicines for scabies like permethrin or lindane; however, there are a few exceptions. These exceptions include infants younger than two months, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, along with undeveloped countries where these medications are not readily available. With the first three exceptions, sulfur does not have as many harmful side effects and is considered safer than the other medications.

Like with any other medication a doctor prescribes, there are always instructions to follow closely, so there is no worry about another infestation. It is considered a good idea to treat everyone in the household at the same time, just in case anyone else may be infested and may not know it. For the treatment to be most effective, it is recommended that a bath or shower is taken prior to applying the ointment, so the ointment is touching fresh, clean skin. It is best to apply it either first thing in the morning or at night, right before going to bed. The doctor may also recommend that the cream be spread all over the body to help with the infestation.

There are some disadvantages of using sulfur based ointment. The lotion itself is messy to apply; it also may stain clothing and it has a very potent, unpleasant smell. It is also known that extended periods of use and exposure to sulfur based ointment may cause dry skin. But the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages as sulfur treatments are the best treatment for a scabies infection.

Sulfur treatment is effective enough to kill scabies mites, bird mites and even rat mites. Typically you would apply the creams overnight over the course of a 4-5 day period, this would be enough to kill the mites beneath your skin. We suggest using sulfur treatments for scabies because the creams actually penetrate the skin where other treatments are lotion based and do not get into the pores.

Yes all scabies treatments must be applied overnight as scabies are most active during the evening hours. Though with sulfur treatments you may want to use them for consecutive nights. Sulfur treatments are known effective against scabies mites, rat mites and even bird mites. It is also safer and you do not get any weird post scabies side effects and it helps heal your skin faster! If your looking for a good site to get scabies creams that actually work you can try the Naturasil scabies creams and soaps here

They even give you a free scabies itch relief spray to help you spot treat in the daytime!

Great product that actually works!

Sulfur creams and soaps work because unlike other prescribed treatments they penetrate the skin and kill both scabies and their eggs. The other treatments prescribed only kill scabies and not the eggs thats why the treatments fail, plus it is really hard to cover your entire body with 100ml which they claim is enough to kill scabies in a single application yet they want you to cover every inch of your skin. Stick to using sulfur, permethirn is a let down and can even make you feel itchier!

Thank you very much we are having success with the creams and soaps. I posted on this forum a few weeks ago and told my story about how me and my daughter had scabies and we wanted to treat using something other than pesticides that worked and we went with your advice and got a family pack and some extra sulfur soaps and now me and my daughter are both scabies free now for over a week. I just wanted to note that we did the treatments two nights for 14 hours and then spot treated on scabies areas with the creams during the day time. The creams are great and the scabies hate them and they even have a pleasant smell as I know sulfur can really have a lime smell to it but this was nice and not too overbearing. Also worth noting is that the family pack also comes with the Benzarid mitacide spray which you can kill the scabies in your home on furniture or whatnot. Anyways it works and I just wanted to stop by again and this will likely be my last visit on the forums. I wish you all well and hope you also will be in good health!

God Bless

If you want to get rid of scabies for good I would suggest you get products that are actually made specially to kill scabies such as the Naturasil Family pack and the sulfur soaps that they carry. When I had scabies a few months back this is what I used to kill them and it worked very quickly with little side effects such as itching and stuff. The sulfur soaps really work wonders and heal your skin and the scabies rashes within days.

I would recommend:

Scabies Family Pack

Scabies Sulfur Soaps

Benzarid Mitacide spray <-- kills scabies in your home on furniture or anything

This is all you really need to kill scabies for good. Don't bother with other treatments as they tend to fail and just make you more itchy.

Day 2 for me and the itching is finally gone and it appears I am back to normal, well I got a full nights sleep and have yet to experience the annoying itching, I will likely continue using the creams and soaps till they are gone as catching scabies has made me paranoid. I am pretty sure this experience will change how I live my life somewhat and be more careful.

Thank you guys! The creams finally rid of my scabies. I was so relieved after spending 6 months dealing with this horrible disease and using permethrin creams over 10 times. What a waste of money and false hope! The creams and soaps worked wonderful and after the first night I never felt an itch again and I was finally back to normal.

God Bless
